Latest Cochrane evidence on omega-3 for premature birth makes global headlines

An updated Cochrane Review published last month to coincide with World Prematurity Day has found that increasing the intake of omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids during pregnancy reduces the risk of premature births.

Lead authors Philippa Middleton and Maria Makrides highlighted the findings in The Conversation and on the RN Health Report, and the review attracted attention in media outlets, journals and parenting websites around the world – including the New York Times, BMJ and Essential Baby.
