Preventing obesity in children - sixth Cochrane review update published today

The sixth update of the Cochrane review on ‘Interventions for preventing obesity in children’ is out today.

For this update, the review has been broken down into three separate reviews that cover smaller age ranges in detail, including:

The reviews looked at BMI, age- and sex-standardised BMI (zBMI) and percentile BMI, reported in randomised controlled trials with interventions aimed at changing diet, physical activity levels (including sedentary time) or both.

The reviews are set to inform guidance on childhood obesity, with NICE including the analyses in their new guidance due to be published later in 2024.
