The ABC's All in the Mind explores the latest Cochrane review on antidepressants and young people

From 2008-2018, the prescription of antidepressants in young people grew by 66 per cent. There’s data to suggest that last year, among the lockdowns and anxiety of the pandemic, that figure ticked even higher. ABC RN's All in the Mind this week takes a closer look at the use of antidepressants among young people, and asks Cochrane author Sarah Hetrick to explain the findings of the latest Cochrane review on this topic. We also hear from young people themselves about their mental health journeys, what it’s like to be on antidepressants and their hopes for the future.
